The Trajectory of a Table Tennis Ball is Determined by its Diameter

Abstract

This study investigates the aerodynamic properties of table tennis balls and how diameter affects flight trajectory and bounce characteristics. Using controlled experimental conditions and high-speed imaging, the authors demonstrate that small variations in ball diameter produce measurable differences in trajectory predictability.
